Breaking News -- Senate approves bill to avoid Oct. 1 government shutdown

The Senate passed a stopgap bill to keep the government running but the House opposes it because it does not eliminate spending to implement part of the Affordable Care Act. The Senate earlier voted to strip defunding of Obamacare from the bill.
