Breaking News -- Yellen confirmed as new Fed chief

The Senate has signed off on President Obama's selection of Janet Yellen as the new chairman of the Federal Reserve. Senators confirmed the nomination Monday night, making Yellen the first woman to head the central bank. Yellen, who had been Fed vice chairman, will replace Ben Bernanke, who is stepping down later this month after eight years on the job.
